Everything is different this year. The annual ESC Congress hosted by the European Society of Cardiology is no exception. As all events with large crowds have been banned by the Dutch government due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the congress cannot be held in Amsterdam as planned.
The ESC Congress goes online
As has been the case with many other large-scale events across many industries, the ESC Congress will be held online August 29 – September 1.
This year’s spotlight is the topic of The Cutting Edge of Cardiology focusing on recent technological developments in clinical cardiology in the areas of:
- advanced therapies and personalized medicine
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and wearable technology in medical care
- robotics in remote care and remote interventional technology
Of course, COVID-19 will be discussed as well as ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines including procedures on treating atrial fibrillation.
In addition, there will be presentations on the latest results from clinical trials that will have an impact on clinical cardiovascular treatments as well as discussions with renowned physicians and medical experts. The case-based sessions will offer insights into real-world clinical settings with audience interaction.
This year’s digital format allows for participation in three different formats:
- Live Sessions – check out the program here
- Select the topics you are interested in through the 10 different channels
- Watch on-demand presentation
